curious asked:

I tutor other kids at my school and want them to enjoy me tutoring them. I know they probably **** learning, so how can I make it fun for them?

I get tutored, and I used to **** it, but now I look forward to it, thanks to my instructor. He is always positive and constantly is praising me for my work.

Find out what they are interested in and try to relate whatever it is you are tutoring them in to their interests. This will not only keep their interest, but will help them retain the information as well. Good luck!

i also **** school way back then. make learning fun? some lecturers make learning fun by outting some humor to the topic. relating the topic to a real life situation. or if you help your student in giving acronyms to those topics that are easily forgotten, try to make a song out of it. so they will learn and enjoy learning. praise your students for a well done job. by giving them something like candies or trinkets, etc.

Take a 5 min. break every 20-30 min. depending on the age of your student and how long they will be with you. Try to find out what the student enjoys. What games he or she like to play. During your 5 min break play a short card game together or other game. For example a short game of uno (just use less cards, like 5), solitaire, connect four, etc. That will give them a fun break and give you both some time to get to know each other. I would not recommend using candy, trickets, toys, etc. The student will only come to expect it and that can be costly as well as require your time to buy the stuff. Additionally, you can have them earn the break. If they are actively engaged than they can take the break. If they loose it give them a chance to earn it back during the second half and just take the break at the end or leave a bit early.

Try to implement some hands-on activities during the tutoring session if possible. Reseach shows that hands-on activities help students learn information faster and retain it for a longer period of time, and also it will be fun for the student.
