I’m a senior in high school, and I’ve heard that teachers are highly in demand in some places and that if you say you’ll teach in that area for a certain amount of time or whatever, they’ll help pay for your schooling.
Could anyone give me some extra insight on this? Thanks.

You can try for scholarships, as they are out there for aspiring teachers.
Other than that, once you graduate if you have student loans (chances are - you will), in certain states you can get student loan forgiveness for those loans and have them erased. Depending on where you are willing to live, some communities are offering payment for student loans as part of their recruitment packages also.
Here is a great site that gives you information on student loan forgiveness from the federal government for teachers (and military members and doctors willing to serve for a certain amount of time in poor communities)
Good luck!
