teachers
just_curious asked:

In my country there a teachers who graduated with a diploma from teachers’ training colleges and those who graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree. The latter’s pay is higher than the former. There has been a debate on teachers’ salary since we think it is too low. Some members of the public do not respect our job mostly because we don’t earn that much. I quote a student back in the late 90′s..”I don’t want to be a teacher because teachers have to do such a tedious job and yet get very little pay” I forgave her.She was only 13.

Just over £19,000 (more if you live in London area) – UK

For the amount of work you have to do plus the pressure and responsibility – much too low.

well in my state, Arkansas you have to have at least a 4 yr. bachelor’s degree and pass tests to be certified (or some equivalent) and Arkansas has a pretty low cost of living and wages are rather low here, I think a first year teacher would make in the range of $32,000 to $35,000 per year.

One of my high school teachers said the starting pay for a teacher was 24,000 with a Bachelors, and a little higher with a masters, but that was twelve years ago. I want to be a professor, but I was told I have to get a doctorate. I have looked it up, and I think professors make 45,000 to 60,000 to start depending on what state and what type of subject and school.
