I live in Montana – I have been told that this state has one of the lowest payscales for elementary teachers. I was hoping to find out the starting payscale for elementary teachers in all states.

Unfortunately teachers in this country don’t earn enough to live off. Forget about other states. If you want to make more money then why don’t you teach at one of the international schools around the world?

In Connecticut it’s about $38,500/39,000 depending on the town. I heard in my teacher’s union magazine that West Virginia is the lowest, but they’re working on changing that.
